I'm wearing some new "lounge pants" today, which are nice and soft and comfortable, but there's labels at the centre back and about a third of the way round the front, and the latter are particularly irritating. Ok, for this chicken that I'm not knitting in the yarn I didn't buy today, what do you think I should do for the second tail piece?

- carry on the colour pattern, so it'll go from orange to green to blue etc (I'll need to work out how much yarn the first piece needed, then wind that much off to work in reverse.)
- try and make a second piece with the same colours (which'll mean winding off 'til I get to the purple again.)
- start the second piece with the yarn as is (not matching at all.)

Incidentally, I recently read "Bookworm" by Lucy Mangan, which is a memoir about being a keen reader as a child in the 1970s and 1980s, which I was (well, less so in the 70s), which is partly why I'm reading so many children's books at the moment. It's a fun read if you're into that kind of thing / are the same kind of age, and it's currently only 99p on Kobo (probably on Amazon too.)

Ooof, I just bought and downloaded "A Suitable Boy" by Vikram Seth from Kobo, as it was only 99p. I think there's something quite touching about the excitement for seeing and sharing pictures of the aurora. We know the science behind it, and we have the technology to recreate the effect in films etc, but we still run outside and stand watching in awe when it happens, and then we run back inside and share our pictures with people all over the world.

The shared experience is a wider one than it used to be, but it is still a shared experience, wherever we are, and that is very cool.

I swear there's probably a few unpacked boxes lurking here, and I've been in this house since 2008 🤣 A week is no time at all.

Aberaeron is a nice little place indeed. I think the carnival might be on Monday, if you a fancy a change. When I used to play in the samba band, we'd often take part in the parade. There'd be a New Orleans style jazz band leading, which was always fun to hear.
