I find I feel better about “digital” once it is a smaller component of a wider life.

So I find various M2 interfaced devices up to about 2TB listed as SSD not NVME. Soooo I assume those are compatible.

Just to assure myself I opened the case up (whilst still live, naturally) and there is an unexpected label on the interface.... It SAYS NVME 2280, but everything I know about machines like this suggests that is wrong, and whoever printed and stuck the label on is just mistaken or confusing it...

Essentially they are not a consumer product, low voltage, and use components for RF that are already CE marked. Arguably they don't need their own CE marking as they're installed INSIDE another product. But even if they do, self certification would probably be non crazy.

But now the email has come through from what I assume/guess is the payment processor it’s actually $34.80, I assume due to VAT that hasn’t been properly indicated at earlier stages. FINALLY I am really quite confident the hot water tank did its legionella/get really hot briefly type cycle, as I am pretty sure it does it Friday mid-afternoon, and when I got home I was initially surprised to see the hot tank was at beyond 60 degrees C (it's usually 50). So it's good to see that that is being done.

I've booked our energy firm to come and remove the gas meter and cap off the gas. So that will save us £9 a month in standing charge.

With this, we'll (I think) have ended up with a total cost of £2860 for this whole thing, which includes a 12kW Samsung heatpump, a new hot water cylinder and associated pipework, and one new radiator. Hard to argue the value really.

It must be a weird situation; to be so wealthy (or able to utilise the wealth of others) that you can buy a thing for 40 billion, ruin it so badly that it may be worth half of that in less than one year, and STILL be on track, by some accounts, to be worth one trillion by just a few years time.

1. They aren't gender reveals at all; it ought to be "biological sex reveal" or perhaps even more cautiously, "assumed biological sex reveal".

2. The fact it matters to some people is just a fucking demonstration that equality still isn't a thing, and some people are gleeful about that.
