I also prefer to minimize the medications I take, but I did start taking a statin pill for cholesterol last year. Having high cholesterol levels doesn’t mean you’ve been “bad.” There’s only so much diet can do anyway. I’m sure your doctor will talk to you about it. Taking a cholesterol med may be worth it to significantly decrease your risk of heart disease and stroke. Best wishes to you and Summer and the rest of your family.

It’s clear that the judge tried to write the exception (“unless the specific target of such a weapon or device poses an imminent threat of physical harm to a law enforcement officer or other person”) as narrowly as possible, but I would expect ICE/federal forces to drive a full truckload of tear gas through that loophole.

This is absolutely true. But local officials have also told people not to protest ICE or other federal forces, and I don’t think that’s the right answer either. It’s not possible to behave so perfectly that the abusers will change their mind and leave the city.
