For similar reasons, I've always been highly suspicious of using a bunch of libraries and imports, especially when it's for one small component that could just be built or copied without the rest. I'm sure there are people building software that's more imports than anything else. Can be good, can be bad. All depends on the context. There are some components I have no business writing myself. I'd be a bigger risk than a library. This whole topic is so broad and complex and yeah there are people who oversimplify concepts and cause false senses of security.
I imaging they have tightened that loophole though. Pull out $20k, buy the car with 5, put 5 into it, then use the other 10k to pay your half of the loan. company pays for the whole note? XD

All windows returned to their proper desktop positions in MacOS. This one small thing is the best development I've experienced technologically speaking in years.

If there is anything to take away yes. Don't make the assumption that "it's in a container or VM it's fine" because I might have to run your app on my system, and the liability is on me.
It's gotten to be an expensive pain in the ass to not have one at this point though. I'm going to complain on social media and make a bunch of pro/con lists tonight in an effort to make a decision.
Not saying I recommend it, but those car resellers aren't horrible. They're insanely popular to the point where for sale by owner cars just aren't as popular on things like marketplace or craigslist. They just take it to these guys for half the price and call it good. They have pretty strict requirements but don't budge on price, they have demographics too, they ship cars everywhere based on the clientel so certain areas get the nicer vehicles.
Can never go wrong with at 2000-2012 toyota corolla, honda accord, honda fit, scion xb, ford focus. They're practically indestructible if you can find them with lower miles.
Like Flatpaks? Though with those you can supposedly control permissions. But you're still relying on software controls, proper implementation/configuration, etc. Even VMs can be escaped in some cases.
Nothing is 100%, which is why it makes most sense to me to be minimal and limited from the start, regardless of where the software runs.
👀 I'm eyeing the Chevy Trax or trailblazer. Even something like a Ford Maverick or Jeep compass. Idk. I don't know shit about shit. I hate them all 🤣

If you know someone who would sell their current car to you it's kind of a win/win. You both get closer to a fair price vs. them trading in their car and you buying from a dealership. The only issue is it will probably need to be a cash transaction.

Alright since we're talking #grownostr you're gonna get my brainfarts -- while UX can always be improved, and major kudos to the people doing that -- I really think Nostr's success now is strictly a "numbers game" of DAUs. And the reason is Zaps.
Here's the math.
Online content creators know that only a small number of people who read/listen/watch their content actually provide monetary support. This number is maybe ~0.1%, let's say.
So at ~5000 DAU's (liberally) today, let's just say ~1000 people actually see your content, if lucky... and now that's maybe 1 person inclined to support. Bad times. 😭 Back to X.
At 50,000 DAU's that's now 10. OK, 10 people chipping in a few sats, big deal.
By the time you get to 500k (Mastodon size) or even 1 million, now you're talking about perhaps 1000's of people who might be supporting.
And it gets even more interesting when you think about the long-tail of what Lightning micropayments support. Nobody, on Youtube, Substack, Spotify, or whatever can accept a 21 Satoshi (~1 cent) donation. We can. So the fraction of people who are donating *that* amount might explode even faster with DAU's.
The *only* serious threat to this model would be if X, Bluesky or anyone else were to actually adopt crypto micropayments. But I'm not betting on it.

I had such mixed feelings watching her interview lol, was VERY proud to see her not take any bait to down another woman but also felt it all appeared very awkward & staged. She was my HERO from 2012-2015 until I started to track her outside of UFC.

Not sure shopping for cars was ever easy. Just know that you're never going to pick the right one. They all have equal issues, whether it be financing, parts failures, stealerships resellers. I think it can often come down to mostly hoping for the best, and picking the one that checks most of the boxes for you, try not to make it emotional.
Ask an automotive tech under the age of 28 what cars suck the least and they often have a preference for the company they work for (if a dealership). As an experienced tech over the age of 30, hell tell you they all suck.
Yeah there are some obvious outliers, that have common, unpreventable, premature failures. Like nissan has an issue with their CVT transmissions, Chrystler has problems with engine top-ends (Chrystler products were never known in the US for their reliability...), gm has a problem with engine bottom ends in their 4 cylinder turbo cars.
The biggest expense with repair is complexity and parts availability. With all of those failures in particular the price is exponential because parts can't be found once the car is out of warranty. My buddies have been telling me they have to buy shit from random ebay sellers, amazon, or marketplace wholesalers getting knockoff recasts from china and hoping for the best.

Should improve the eggs too richer yolks thicker shells etc. When the farm I give the stuff to use it, it improves both and I can tell when they get new chickens in because the quality drops again

I think I'm going to finally bite the bullet and get a four wheel vehicle. My company offers a new American car benefit so it would be only half of whatever the monthly payment is.
I've been renting a car once a month for my events anyways and honestly it would be about the same price.
The scooter's been out of commission from those dang mice and it's really hard to hoof it all around town, and way more expensive to order groceries rather than buying in person.
I just hate cars so I don't wanna. I don't know much about them and feel like I'm going to get taken advantage of when I go buy. I am in full pout mode atm.
