Nota: Perseguição política: Polícia Federal invade casa de Rui Costa Pimenta
Na manhã desta terça-feira (11), a Polícia Federal (PF) realizou uma operação de “busca e apreensão” contra o companheiro Rui Costa Pimenta, presidente nacional do PCO.
A medida é ilegal, antidemocrática, uma óbvia perseguição política e eleitoral e uma tática de intimidação. Homens armados da PF apresentaram um descabido mandado judicial, às 6 horas da manhã, e adentraram a casa de Rui, bem como invadiram um escritório, em outro endereço, que estava vazio, arrombando portas e o portão de sua casa.
Qual seria o motivo? O que buscavam? O Partido e Rui até agora não fazem ideia. Rui descobriu a operação quando os policiais arrombaram seu portão; outros dirigentes foram informados pela imprensa.
O inquérito trataria, pelo que diz a imprensa, de uma investigação sobre prestações de serviços contratadas pelo Partido de três empresas gráficas ao longo de (pasmem) cinco anos. Os valores somam, de acordo com o site Metrópoles, R$1,8 milhão. Considerando-se os ditos cinco anos e três empresas, seriam, na média aproximada, R$120 mil por ano por empresa.
O referido “portal de notícias” desempenha com frequência o papel de “vazar fatos” e dar voz a acusações caluniosas que não podem ser ditas em documentos oficiais. Neste caso, a jornalista Mirelle Pinheiro disse que a PF suspeita de irregularidades em “contratos milionários” do PCO. Não há menção a um único contrato que chegue a um milhão. A sanha persecutória é tão grande que até atropela o bom uso da língua portuguesa e da capacidade de contar. Se o analfabetismo linguístico e matemático tem origem nas “fontes” ou na jornalista, nunca saberemos.
Nas campanhas eleitorais de 2018, 2020 e 2022, o Partido lançou um total de 442 candidatos de acordo com a plataforma Divulgacand, do TSE. R$1,8 milhão resulta em meros R$4.072 por candidato.
Para efeito de cálculo, o então prefeito de São Paulo, Bruno Covas, que era candidato à reeleição em 2020, gastou R$1.848.718,19 em materiais impressos na referida eleição. Covas gastou R$2.200.000,00 em advogados nesta eleição, mais de R$10 milhões em produção de vídeos. Gastou incríveis R$1,8 milhão em pesquisas eleitorais.
Um único município, um único candidato, uma única eleição. Nesse caso, o PSDB gastou mais em materiais impressos do que o PCO em todos os pleitos citados.
A única coisa descoberta pela PF é que o serviço foi prestado e que o Partido realiza campanhas extremamente espartanas. Ao invadir a casa de Rui, também descobriram que o companheiro vive uma vida simples, sem luxos, sem dinheiro guardado, mais humilde do que os agentes que invadiram sua casa, no bairro do Jabaquara.
Para os que não conhecem a cidade, trata-se de um bairro de classe média-baixa e operária em São Paulo, com o companheiro morando a 10 minutos de caminhada da Favela da Alba, em uma casa alugada.
Rui ainda teve de apontar o fato de que sua maior riqueza era a sua biblioteca, algo que quem já esteve na residência do companheiro poderá confirmar.
Os agentes, decepcionados, tiveram de se contentar em levar o celular e o passaporte. Sem joias, sem bens preciosos ou qualquer coisa similar.
A tática de invadir a casa dos perseguidos às seis da manhã, arrombando as portas, também merece um comentário. A polícia faz isso para ser o mais próximo legalmente possível do que fazia o Destacamento de Operações de Informações - Centro de Operações de Defesa Interna (DOI-CODI) da ditadura militar. Após o fim do regime militar, a Constituição proibiu a invasão da casa dos cidadãos durante a noite, então os policiais hoje contentam-se em fazer o mais próximo possível disso. Rui e o Partido denunciaram esta prática contra Lula e outras pessoas, particularmente na ditatorial e ilegal Operação Lava Jato. Também o fizeram no famigerado Inquérito das “Fake News”, além de, é claro, durante a própria ditadura militar.
Não se trata apenas de um abuso de poder e perseguição flagrantes, trata-se de um ato ridículo e digno de palhaços de circo. É evidente que montaram um show para a imprensa usando o dinheiro público e o aparato policial.
Tudo isso acontece enquanto juízes e ministros, como Alexandre de Moraes, ostentam relógios de luxo, cujo valor de apenas um pode chegar a mais de R$500 mil. A revista Veja relata que ele teria vários relógios desse porte, tendo em relógios mais do que o companheiro Rui tem na vida. As esposas de pessoas como ele celebram contratos de dezenas de milhões com bancos e realizam viagens luxuosas com banqueiros e empresários. Estes andam com proteção da Polícia Federal; os que nada têm são assediados por ela.
O grande capital e o imperialismo fizeram da República um verdadeiro bordel, comprando parlamentares, juízes, promotores e burocratas para fazer o que bem entendem e sem nem esconder. Essa corja, desprovida de qualquer autoridade moral e política, quer acusar aqueles que sempre lutaram pelos direitos do povo de corrupção. É o cúmulo da hipocrisia.
A operação acontece meros três dias após o lançamento público da candidatura presidencial do Partido, tendo Rui como candidato, mostrando que o problema não é a impressão dos (poucos) panfletos do PCO, mas calar quem se opõe à pilhagem do Estado, da Nação e da classe trabalhadora.
O PCO tem sido sistematicamente perseguido pela burguesia, pelos tribunais, pelos policiais e pelo imperialismo. Rui e outros companheiros são investigados por terrorismo e racismo ao defenderem a resistência palestina, investigados por denunciarem o estupro da Constituição por parte do Supremo Tribunal Federal e a perseguição judicial feita contra todos, tanto contra Lula quanto contra Bolsonaro.
Apenas o lobby sionista, representado pela Conib e similares, apresentou dezenas de denúncias contra o PCO e seu presidente por conta das suas posições em defesa do povo palestino, de denúncia do genocídio, do assassinato de crianças e pela sua defesa do direito dos povos de resistir à ocupação por todos os meios, algo que até o limitado “direito internacional” reconhece.
Nosso Partido é um partido de princípios, nem o mais rampeiro analista nega isso. O partido defendeu a liberdade de Cesare Battisti, de Lula, de Bolsonaro, de deputados presos como José Dirceu e Daniel Silveira.
Defendemos o direito de falar de comediantes e jornalistas, de amigos e inimigos. Defendemos o direito de associação e de greve para todos, de carteiros a metalúrgicos e até mesmo policiais e militares, corporações que consideramos inimigas naturais da classe trabalhadora.
Um peso, uma medida. Princípios e doutrina política. Coerência e constância. Fazendo muito com quase nada. É disso que é feito o Partido da Causa Operária, organização fundada durante a ditadura militar e que milita todos os dias, não apenas na eleição.
Essa perseguição implacável é o maior elogio que poderíamos receber. Os ataques dos inimigos de classe, dos inimigos do Brasil, dos inimigos das liberdades individuais não mentem.
A Polícia Federal não invade a casa de quem não incomoda, de quem é a oposição consentida ao que aí está. Nenhum partido pretensamente revolucionário é tratado como nós somos.
A todos os cidadãos livre-pensantes, a todos os partidos, organizações e pessoas que defendem os direitos democráticos e individuais, fazemos um chamado: repudiem em alto e bom som o que está sendo feito.
Chamamos todos a se juntarem nessa luta, ao lado do verdadeiro partido antissistema, e a repudiar essa covarde agressão.

A Year Earlier the Same Prime Minister Had Pinned Medals on Them
In June 1965 Wilson nominated all four Beatles as Members of the Order of the British Empire, an award no pop musician had received before. The official reason was economic: their 1964 breakthrough had built an export market for British music where none existed, and it pulled tourism, fashion and film along with it.
Beatles biographer Ian MacDonald read the situation exactly right. The money the band handed to the Treasury was the price of the medals.

Harrison coughs, then counts the band in himself, in what biographer Jonathan Gould calls a "grim, miserly voice." Three years earlier the Beatles had opened their first album with a shouted "One, two, three, four!" on "I Saw Her Standing There." Now the count-in is dragged, sour, and cut off before it finishes.
Gould hears self-mockery in it. In three years the band's attention had travelled from the dance floor to the counting house.
The Villain Was Written as a Comic-Book Character
Steve Turner traced the riff's inspiration to Neal Hefti's theme for the Batman television series, the pop-art sensation of 1966. That is why the band yells "Taxman!" right before the solo, the way a cartoon announces its arrival. Here comes the hero whose superpower is taking nineteen shillings out of every twenty.
Harrison Never Let the Song Age
He first played it live in 1991, twenty-five years after recording it, and introduced it onstage as "a very old song written in 1873," deadpanning that the grievance was Victorian and he had merely inherited it. He swapped the politicians for John Major, George Bush and Boris Yeltsin, worked in a verse about VAT, and added two new lines: "If you wipe your feet, I'll tax the mat. If you're overweight, I'll tax your fat.
His explanation was one sentence. "There's always a taxman."
Sixty Years Later the Complaint Still Holds
In 2019 the trade publication Tax Journal, debating whether Britain should bring supertax back, looked at what Wilson had done to the top bracket and sided with Harrison. The rate, they wrote, "wasn't a fair progressive system. It was outright theft.

Julian Assange was warning about this years ago, and today it has become a normal part of how the internet works. This makes me think of mainstream media stealth edits and retractions in the middle of the night on big stories without really notifying people after initial headlines run.
It gets worse than stealth edits though. Now, most digital information lives on centralized servers controlled by a relatively small number of organizations. When an article is removed, the link often just leads to a "page not found" error. There's usually no explanation, no record of why it disappeared, and no notice that the content was ever there in the first place.
Assange's concern wasn't just that information could be removed. It was that once something disappears from a digital archive, future generations may have no easy way of knowing it ever existed. The record doesn't just vanish; in many cases, the disappearance itself becomes invisible.
Over the years, there have been many examples of articles, government pages, datasets, and reports being removed, rewritten, or relocated. Sometimes it's for legitimate reasons such as corrections, redesigns, policy changes, or legal issues.
Researchers have also found that a significant portion of the web simply fades away over time. Studies suggest that many webpages from the early internet are no longer accessible, leaving behind broken links and missing records.
Assange is recognizing that the systems we build to shape what future generations are able to remember, study, and understand about the past are inherently and deeply manipulated as well, just like book burnings and culture destruction of the past.
