I would add that this is a key problem with hyperscaler data center build-outs. Key inputs have distorted price signals. Policy makers hide the cost of enviromental-ish goals (and conceal patronage) in electricity rates, and water policy more resembles tribal warfare than functioning markets. No one (besides foreign-financed shills) would protest these data centers if we had credible price signals to have them (auditably) pay their way.
I’m not in either camp but this BS statement goes for all sides. Debates and wars are dirty. You lose some subs so what at least he has the guts to stand for something. You are cheaply feasting on it.

There are more bots than people on Nostr. I've whittled my feed down to like 12 people or something like that, and I don't really look at much outside of that, with the exception of @nprofile…crv3 cause he's got the news and that.
The bots are a serious issue that makes Nostr seem so fucking tacky to anybody looking from the outside in.

For those leaving BIP110 for the "Network Effect" :
The network effect doesn't apply here because Bitcoin (talking bip110 PoW hard fork chain here) doesn't compete/compare with corecoin, monero or any other. The network comes to Bitcoin because there is literally nothing else. "Network effect" is mostly a fiat term for VCs to determine which product from a list is more valuable. There is no list here.
And no, the hard fork does not create a new coin, miner disobedience does, and their corecoin is gonna die out like every other new coin trying to leech on Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not about concessions, it's about, among other things, being absolutely uncompromising in making sure the 21 million cap is never breached. I don't see corecoin halving in 2028. Core is beyond repair, and the culture defending it completely lost the plot. There is no competition.

A note about Energy

I disagree. The degree to which that is true is different and there is definite improvement.
Slavery is a good example. Yes most of us are still effective slaves to a system that is grossly unfair and limiting. Still, it is miles better than being literally sold to someone who owns you, owns all the fruit of your labour, and can beat, rape or kill you any time they want without any fear of repercussions.

I recall visiting the George Mason University law library in my student days. Even though it was likely pretty small by university standards, and even though the number of laws, decisions, and regulations has likely tripled or more since then, it was impressive. It occupied a whole floor of a large building, and the hundreds of thousands of volumes were largely printed on super-thin paper in tiny type. I'd estimate it would take you almost 4,000 years to read them all. No one even knows what the laws are, and everyone's breaking some of them, therefore enforcement is almost always selective and largely based on whether the group in power likes you or not.
