Sad story.
Just yesterday I spent around half an hour talking with a man living on the street.
But he is nit poor. He decided to live on the street around 30 years ago. His only addiction is tabaco.
Therefor he has little to run behind. He sells newspapers, tidies up the surrounding of some houses and buys quality equipment (sleeping bag, hammock, cloth).
He is a minimalist and did never take a pennie of welfare.
He is a free man, reads much, takes care of the social connections he has.
In the time I am talking with him, many come by and interrupt us, in order to buy a newspapter from him. So it is obvious, that he has a good network of people that respect and like him.
I think with this story I want to show, that different people have different goals. We do not have to live the lives others expect from us. We can choose for ourself, as long as our actions are not shortening others freedom.

This wouldn't have happened without us complaining about Alex's dangerously idiotic idea, his wrench attack trolling, and his malicious Fedposting.

This is not the epic saga of a hero. It's damage control.
In Switzerland the largest cinema theater chain that acquired a quasi monopoly by buying small theater and closing them down, started charging a fee for each movie booking transactions, online by card, in theater by card or cash, it's 1 CHF (a bit more than 1 USD) per booking.
It's illegal in Switzerland and they know it. A claim has been opened but the maximum fine for such violation is just a few hundreds thousand Swiss franc while it's estimated they charged already more than a millions from this fee, probably multimillions by the time court settle everything.
Thank you government for protecting us, glad we pay tax for such service.

Ich denke an die "positive neuverschaltung der Nervenzelle". Bzw. weniger romantisch die Gödelsche Unvollständigkeit. Wir können Sachverhalte tranzendieren und "verstehen" warum sie richtig oder falsch sein müssen.
Ich hoffe es war eine interessante Erfahrung.

Privacy is the control over personal data. Control to share it with the people and companies one wants to share them and exclude those, one does not want to share it with.
So one does can impossibly be without privacy or have it all. It is a spectrum, that can be improved or decreased. And the more control one has over the personal data as higher is the control.

Reminds me that I wanted to add a conversion display on the amounts field. So that everyone can see what the sat amount would be in fiat or traditional Bitcoin notation. As an orientation and typing-check.

Not only does this exposure exist - and hasn’t been addressed architecturally despite there being a straightforward mechanism to fix it, but another researcher uncovered that all Telegram traffic flows through two servers in Moscow. This doesn’t mean your chats are being decrypted or anything, but you and your device can be tracked and I think this is exactly what they are doing.
