Ironically the average "bitdev" see improvement to bitcoin as anything to make it worse, and anything that might make it more uncensorable is "backwards" and "opinionated".
Decentralized technology doesn't do much good without underlying social cohesion in the communities using it. Otherwise you're just connecting to servers run by people you'll never meet, which isn't that different from what we already have. Fortunately #cochiseCounty already has a lot of cohesion in the opt out building community 😀

💯 it's much easier to ignore negative energy than engage with it
#nostr is optimized for community use. If everyone connects to one locally run relay, apps only have to worry about one data source, which means faster load times and fewer missed messages. Maybe there are regional or global relays too, but most communication happens among people who see each other in person regularly. This is the reality with decentralized technologies, and how I see society organized in the future.

It's fitting that math, something that exists only in our minds, will be one of our main tools for liberation. We aren't as much physically oppressed as we are mentally. Our physical circumstances don't need to change as much as how we interact with each other - direct communications and transactions without intermediaries taking an arbitrary cut. Cryptography makes this possible, and it's really up to us when to start using this tool.

Cryptography works because 2+2 =4. There is nothing the government or any institution can do to change that, no matter how powerful they get. That is why we will win

Thanks for coming and glad you enjoyed! That is always a concern, but with nostr you can always switch apps or run your own relay. So it's more resistant to corporate takeovers
