A few days ago a report came out by our public health agency after which they warned to avoid eggs produced by people who keep chickens as a hobby because they contain large amounts of PFAS.\n\nI have fully read the report but don't hsve enough knowledge to detect potential flaws.\n\nConcerns:\n\n- No place in the country is apparently safe.\n- Apparently eating 1 egg a day already crosses safety margins (set by the EU). (I eat at least 5 a day)\n- Commercially produced eggs are safe.\n\nWhy I am skeptical and questions that i have:\n\n- They were mostly wrong with their covid spread modelling and vaccine advice.\n- How come pasture foraging chickens on commercial farms seem to be fine?\n- Are these safety limits overblown? I know nothing about PFAS and what safe limits are and what risks they pose when consumed in larger quantities?\n- Do you think i should avoid eating eggs by hobbyists?\n- Am i being psy-oped?\n\nArticle (full report is at the bottom): https://www.rivm.nl/en/news/rivm-advises-against-eating-home-produced-eggs\n\n"}
