This BIP proposed the drivechain we'd like to use\nin RSK (a.k.a. Rootstock) two-way pegged blockchain and see it implemented\nin Bitcoin. Until that happens, we're using a federated approach.\nI'm sure that adding risk-less Bitcoin extensibility through\nsidechains/drivechains is what we all want, but it's of maximum importance\nto decide which technology will leads us there.\nWe hope this work can also be the base of all other new 2-way-pegged\nblockchains that can take Bitcoin the currency to new niches and test new\nuse cases, but cannot yet be realized because of current\nlimitations/protections.\n\nThe full BIP plus a reference implementation can be found here:\n\nBIP (draft):\nhttps://github.com/rootstock/bips/blob/master/BIP-R10.md\n\nCode \u0026 Test cases:\nhttps://github.com/rootstock/bitcoin/tree/op-count-acks_devel\n(Note: Code is still unaudited)\n\nAs a summary, OP_COUNT_ACKS is a new segwit-based and soft-forked opcode\nthat counts acks and nacks tags in coinbase fields, and push the resulting\ntotals in the script stack.\n\nThe system was designed with the following properties in mind:\n\n1. Interoperability with scripting system\n2. Zero risk of invalidating a block\n3. No additional computation during blockchain management and\nre-organization\n4. No change in Bitcoin security model\n5. Bounded computation of poll results\n6. Strong protection from DoS attacks\n7. Minimum block space consumption\n8.
