The current Bitcoin DNS seed\ninfrastructure is unstable. I assume this is because of we're using a\ncustom DNS implementation which is not 100% compatible. There have been\nbugs in the past, like a case sensitive match for the domain name.\n\nCurrent state (seeds taken from bitcoinj):\n\nmainnet:\n\nseed.bitcoin.sipa.be\t\t\tOK\ndnsseed.bluematt.me\t\t\tOK\ndnsseed.bitcoin.dashjr.org\t\tSERVFAIL, tried multiple ISPs\nseed.bitcoinstats.com\t\t\tOK\n\ntestnet:\n\ntestnet-seed.bitcoin.petertodd.org\tSERVFAIL, just from Telefonica\ntestnet-seed.bluematt.me\t\tOK (but only returns one node)\n\nNote: Telefonica is one of Europe's largest ISPs.\n\nI would try to improve DNS myself, but I'm not capable of writing C. My\n\"fix\" would be to reimplement everything in Java -- I doubt you guys\nwould be happy with that."}
