I was on a Mastodon server for years, at least 4, and I had just one grievance where I went a little out of control and told someone to go fuck themselves, and because the admin and his mod team were having a bad day, or didn't like me ... I lost everything. It made/inspired me to launch my own Mastodon server, but after exploring Nostr for a little bit now, I'm starting to wonder if paying for a Mastodon server is really the best option"}
