The sugar levels will be high on the ones that are good though. &#xA;&#xA;It could be root stock but yes young plum trees especially the more wild ones have a habit of being surprisingly spikey when young.  I have about 2-3 young spikey plum trees growing around the mother  tree here that I need to get out in the dormant season.</html></oembed>
