But when a person says BIP110 is good or bad, they enter the dialogue and are attempting to persuade others what is in their best interests. Entering the ethical domain implies rational standards external to any one person. it is no longer simply about “what you think best serves your interest.” you have to be this tall to ride, and if you cannot make an affirmative case for why X Y or Z is good for another person, you simply aren’t tall enough for rational discourse. amorphous claims about the “greater good of bitcoin” don’t count. self contradictory arguments about cEnSoRShIp don’t count. sophistry about spam doesn’t count bitcoin is a tool, and only you can give it purpose. so whatever you use it for, run the software that best serves you. if you have cutting to be done, keep your blade sharp.
