I've been unable to get my vsts work decently and did not find any music notation software with reasonable features. So I keep always a computer for music purpouses without linux. For the rest, I've been in linux for years (the times of ubuntu 6) and it's the best decision I made. Lots of learning but also lots of freedom to get things working as I want
