Yes - outboxes are better than relays. Good luck persuading the Nostr ecosystem to switch to outboxes. Pubky's default architecture is outboxes (homeservers). CSAM provides justification and public consent for governments to restrict access to the internet. Nostr apparently has a serious issue with such uploads. As I said, this is largely because hosting services are effectively subsidised by a small number of individuals / organisations. A prime use case for decentralised social is that people don't - for example - get put into Security Detention for supporting anti-genocide protests, or forwarding an RT article. Nostr has content problems and will quite obviously fail resilience tests. Pubky will not have comparible content problems because people will host their own stuff; and it is resilient.
