Given how popular his calls for Epstein disclosures and stopping Middle East wars were, I don't have a better explanation for why he alienated his base so badly while offering no serious explanation for the reversals. To me, the simplest explanation is some sort of compromised state. But, as to my broad point, I don't think that's a complete explanation for all his behavior. He has a complex set of motivations, just like the rest of us.
