I'd say it got merchant adoption, dark markets, online shopping(via shopingbit), xmrbazar.
But, I am not going to list pros and cons or what is best. I say do what you did to find bitcoin, study it. Not as something to compete out every other thing, but to work in tandem with other currency, I.e bitcoin, fiat, silver/gold. That my take on it.
I will share one thing though, to me, after some studying it seems to be what bitcoin said it would do in the white paper, p2p electronic cash.
