Appreciate the question, John. I think it stems directly from the multi-year indoctrination of "HODL" as the ultimate and only philosophy. The community has been deeply conditioned with a strict "never sell, only buy" mentality.
While holding is essential for saving, it has created a massive psychological barrier to spending. If we completely surrender to that mindset and never actually use it as a medium of exchange, Bitcoin will only ever be viewed as digital gold. For it to fulfill its destiny as true peer-to-peer money, we have to actively break that conditioning and start letting it flow through the circular economy.
