There are several great things about typewriters, two of which are the lack of distractions when writing, and the built-in normie repellant.
If I am sitting down to write with a pen (or laptop) in a public park... people have no problem orbiting and being annoying, but the rapidfire clack of a typewriter drives them off pretty effectively.
