You ain't neva lied. The number of times I've been asked "bah, who's ya mom and dem?" I can't even count.
I grew up in Avoyelles and was at work up here one day. I heard a mom and her daughters talking and walked over and asked if they were from Avoyelles and said it was because I recognized the accent. The youngest said "ah ain't got no ax'sent."
