When you say "so much effort was put into making it hypercard-like by intentionally stripping away features", do you mean *you* had to put in effort, which was discouraging, or the creator of Decker had put in effort that you had to work around?
I kind of like how hermetically-sealed Decker decks are, so I can download a deck off the Internet and be pretty confident it isn't going to ransack my browser cookies, and I can give a deck to somebody else and be confident I haven't left any links to `file://C|/Users/MyName/` that will be broken on their machine. But I'm thinking of things like Celsius/Fahrenheit converters or adventure games; if you wanted to make an app that read documents from disk and saved them back out, I can imagine that would be a pain, yeah.
