I am not responsible for shutting down Germany’s nuclear power plants. I would not have done that.
In Germany, we shut them down before we had built the alternatives, and now we have to make up for that with great difficulty.
I also did not legally guarantee feed-in tariffs for 15 years. I cannot reverse that. Those decisions have been made.
So now we are trying, painstakingly and step by step, to increase supply. And the path toward lower energy prices only comes through a larger and better supply.
