I'm very curious to know this as well tbh. If I had to guess, *one* big pain point is web-only users not understanding how to interact with a post on another instance when viewing it on that instance's site - that UX was really crappy when the first wave of Twitter escapees found their way here (me included). The UX for this has gotten better - but it's still clunky and not great.
