most languages only have one lateral, its frequently conditioned to have different qualities though, "dental" is more common than proper alveolar i think.
frequently a plain or paltalized l see slovak ľ versus dark ł
latin and polish have a development of a conditioned l being dark ł becoming L then in polish becoming w and latin becoming o and then u, dacian appears to have done something similar with vocalic l being spelled ul~ol
spanish ll same as slovak ľ originally
l for me as an onset is a dental ł, the post vocalic and vocalic forms are extreme.
i believe india exclusively has a trill for r but we have 8 or so versions of r, its unusual for there to be anything other than an alveolar trill or flap every else as well
