In the end, my aversion to absurdist, anti-human UX on a physical device kept me from ever engaging with ColdCard.
This situation can certainly make one question all HWWs, but I do not think that is correct.
While assigning not blame or shame to those affected, we all take this as a reminder to match our security stack to what we are securing.
Also err toward FOSS tools and maybe don’t rely on a single HWW provider when significant holdings (this means something different to everyone tho) are in play.
