Yeah, they authenticate that the content was delivered by the server instance with zero third party interference. That's a pretty nice guaruntee, but Nostr's design doesn't allow even THAT much. Do you believe that Nostr is the only possible way of granting users sovereignty over their accounts? Why does everyone HAVE to put their effort (into Nostr)? Why does Nostr have to throw away perfectly good guaruntees just because they aren't handed to Nostr on a silver platter? If platform more similar to Nostr comes around, would you be telling Nostr devs to bend over backwards to be able to properly federate with them? Do you even want to bridge with other platforms?
