I’m making some progress in decoding the car.

1 beep is “the speed limit is about to change” (this is woefully inaccurate: over the course of two miles on a national limit road it told me the limit was national, 30, 50 and 80. 80 is never legal here.)

2 beeps has only happened once, not sure.

3 beeps is definitely speed related, and tends to coincide with the displayed speed limit icon flashing red. Only it does it a lot when I’m under the limit but accelerating and not when, say, I’ve been sitting at the limit but accidentally creep over it. You know, when it would be useful. Plus, see above re: accuracy of speed limit.

4 beeps, I *think* is lane assist. It did it earlier when I overtook a tractor. It also does it when I’m on roads with no lane markings and lots of potholes to avoid.

5 beeps seems to be the speed camera warning.

(I downloaded a copy of the manual, hoping it might have a handy little table. It does not, and the text just repeatedly refers to “an audible warning” without saying what that consists of.)
