16/40 is different to 16/32. So anyone working two day weeks should either have their hours cut by 1/5 on the same pay, or have their salary etc recalculated from 40% to 50%.

(I once had to fight HR on this very point when they changed full time from 40 to 35. We all got the recalculation in the end.)
