Today, I did something I always wanted to do: randomly do a race without prepping for it in advance.
One time I was listening to David Goggings and he said he’s always ready for a race. It doesn’t matter when or where, he’s always ready.
So, my day came. My in law signed up for a 5k and we were going to cheer her on. She asked if we wanted to do it, and we said fck it. A little cardio will do us good.
One thing about me, I low key HATE competition because I was traumatized from my running days back in high school.
That being said, this race was a mental challenge. It was a mental hurdle I needed to get over, that it was okay if I didn’t place. That I didn’t have to win.
It was just me running 5k and doing something I always wanted to do.
Long story short: I got first place.
Conclusion, do random things. Step out of your comfort zone. Your mind is your biggest enemy and greatest ally.
