Neither 3.4.3 or 3.4.4 failed me yet and I use rsync extensively.

Doesn't has to be. His actions to me so far are reasonable. If he decides to stop development of rsync completely, I might be annoyed for some time, but I can't really blame him. What is not reasonable to me on the other hand is the Mastodon™ users having a meltdown over Claude in commit attributions universally all day every day, and seemingly running newest versions of software in production without any testing, as I've seen during the time where the rsync regressions cropped up. Reasonable people would make an issue on Github about it and maybe write a post about the regression along with pasting the link to the issue, but that is not what happened in 99% of the cases.
