The devs behind nitter received a cease and desist from X. nitter is open source software that allows people to see posts on X without an account, without JavaScript, basically in private. If nostr wasn't so Bitcoin maxi focused, it would be a good place for people disillusioned by X to come to.
Instead, Bitcoin maximalists like fiatjaf (nprofile…nj27) have made sure nostr is mostly a place for Bitcoin maximalists, with tons of native features designed just for Bitcoin, with niche Bitcoin features only diehard maxis care about and will use.
Bitcoin maxis are great at fucking up good ideas.
