This is the main decision and trade off for an artist - build your own set up and avoid ongoing studio hire costs, but then slow to a crawl as you climb a massive learning curve, learn how to do the job of the engineer, producer and rest of the band so you can make cheaper but less alive versions of the songs yourself. All the while struggling to obtain objectivity on what you are doing creatively.
Whilst you were off doing that, AI arrives and you can now just type in some shitty words and make a ‘song’ and creativity and patience are optional skills for most people 🤷♂️
