The 10 Principles of Burning Man

1. Radical Inclusion — Anyone can be part of Burning Man. There are no prerequisites for participation.
2. Gifting — Burning Man is based on unconditional gifting rather than buying and selling.
3. Decommodification — The culture tries to resist commercial sponsorship, advertising, and transactions that would interfere with the experience.
4. Radical Self-reliance — Participants are encouraged to discover, exercise, and rely on their own capabilities.
5. Radical Self-expression — Everyone is encouraged to express themselves in their own unique way, provided they respect the rights and liberties of others.
