Apple Podcasts did _not_ launch support for video podcasts today.
They've supported video podcasts since 2005 when iTunes 4.9 first added podcasts.
Instead, Apple launched a proprietary new way to distribute video podcasts, this time using HLS to enable smart streaming instead of whole-video MP4s.
