In the song Numb, the Edge sings a repetitive two-note melody with changing lyrics while the music behind him slowly expands and changes, eventually incorporating background vocals by Bono.
The lyrics here, too, don't make any simple sense. They're modeled after various familiar lyrics that tell you what to do, like "get up and dance!" But they're hilariously different:
"Don't expect, suggest".
Indeed, they only tell us what *not* to do:
"Don't travel by train
Don't eat
Don't spill
Don't piss in the drain
Don't make a will"
etc.
I rarely like music videos but this one is rather watchable.
