Perhaps I'm so much in it for Clap more for "ideological" and "being ahead of the curve feeling" reasons.
- the companies behind it are active within the Linux realm for a long time. Bitwig and U-he. Steinberg on the other hand not at all in terms of real plugins. Null. I tend to cherish companies that truly support Linux
- Being Open Source is a base pillar for Clap. Clap is build with Open Source in mind. Steinberg? They open sources VST3 just recently. As an after thought.
Just after Clap gained noticable traction. Surly a coincidence, right?
- Clap has a fresher code base and allows for some things I have already forgotten and never used anyway, but still. ;)
I see more future in Clap than in anything else for those reasons. Not the best reasons maybe? Dunno.
