It's the least terrible option IMO...
Thinking for this, wing spar = upper and lower battery tubes with periodic spacers (probably carbon tube over wood or structural foam) and then the whole thing is wrapped in carbon cloth which is turned 45 degrees so that the weave is an X pattern, because the load you're handling is shear (top tube pushes out as bottom tube pulls in)
