Google's AI says that India, Thailand, Mexico, and China's Sichuan region are globally famous for serving the spiciest food in the world. So to me it really seems like a third-world thing. Apparently, this spicy food/hot sauce tradition was adopted by white Americans, but not by us here in Europe. I guess that's why I find it weird.
