I think this is a very bad idea. You can easily be forced to press your finger on something or scan your face. Whereas if my seed phrase is hidden somewhere away it’s simply not possible to access it.

I hope no one implements this for hardware wallets.

Yes. You can opt to use seed phrase. But no one will use it as it‘s „inconvenient“

Users authenticate with biometrics instead of 12 words. Seed phrase backup is still available for those who want it.
