European countries aren't afraid of being invaded by the US or wrecked by the US.
We would *quite literally* become one of the poorest nations in the world if all trade from the EU disappeared.
And poor nations *cannot* furnish militaries like ours, because of *physical reality*.
Europe fears only the loss of their comfortable Colonist Emeritus status/Most Favored Client State position.
