Like most people in Seattle, I live on the side of a steep hill.
Awhile back I stopped and helped a homeless guy get back in his wheelchair. He had fallen out while going downhill because the sidewalk was so uneven.
I noticed how the street was totally smooth, had just been repaved. The sidewalk looked like it was decades old, cracked & gnarled with roots.
It wasn’t an accident that this guy fell out of his wheelchair, it was policy decisions that prioritize car owners over everyone else.
