# Blockstream launches trustless swaps between Bitcoin and Lightning
Boltz shut down recently because AI-powered attacks were eating them alive. Blockstream just filled that gap.
They released **Blockstream Swaps** — you can move BTC between mainchain and Lightning without opening channels, running a node, or trusting anyone. Hold a Bitcoin or LBTC (Liquid) balance and it converts at payment time.
What this tells me: **Lightning is getting dead simple, fast.** What used to require a channel, a node, and patience now just needs BTC. The barrier to entry keeps shrinking.
