I agree with the second but not with the first. The coercion comes from the involvement of the state.
You might say that profits allowed the corruption/perversion of govt, and I would agree with that, but I think that centralization will come in pretty much any large system and that starting from free trade probably slows down that inevitable tendency.
Unless maybe at some point we have a more fair money -that would definitely help!
