There was so much craziness re Covid, but one thing with profound implications for everything around the vaccine was the timing of someone being considered "vaccinated."
For the mRNA jabs, you weren't considered fully vaccinated until 2 weeks after your second shot.
Most side effects are concentrated in the days immediately after vaccination, so all thing things that happened in that window
- covid cases
- covid deaths
- strokes
- heart attacks
- (etc)
were attributed to someone being unvaccinated (or partially vaccinated).
It's hard to overstate the effect of this on the statistics around the effectiveness of the shots. Basically most of negative effects of the shots are falsely attributed to the lack of them.

Assuming this is true, then the single hold-out juror in the Clancy case does not actually have to follow the judge's instructions (to decide according to the absurd MA law in question). So there's no justification for replacing him, which is what I believe the defense is pushing for.

This is such a mess. It seems that the Massachusetts law on insanity is written in such a way that a non guilty verdict is actually the only logical one. If I've understood correctly, all the jurors have to decide is if there is a reasonable doubt that she was in her right mind. And there's plenty of evidence - between dr reports and toxicology - that she was not in her right mind.
The law is the problem here. Imagine a world where if there's any possibility that someone might be insane, they can't be convicted of murder.

Politicians are selfish and corrupt, pretty much without exception. Ironically I think that Trump 1 was one of the only recent US presidents to leave office with less wealth than when he started but he's figured out the ropes since then.
But this was the point of the thread: You said that people blame immigrants instead of the ones in power, and I said that in fact voters seem to be pretty focused hating the ones in power more than they hate immigrants.

Yes, and as with so many interventions you can easily explain it by ignorance, but the pattern is unmistakable: interference tends to lead to less sovereignty, weakened connections, and more dependence on the system.

Once a week per muscle group? I've finally gotten back to some of my workouts, and I have kettlebells in there 2x/week (along with some bodyweight like pushups). With the bells I do some swings, then deadlifts, bulgarian split squats (35lb), cossack squats, some upper body work (20 lb). I've been considering splitting them by upper/lower so that each of those gets once/week, which sounds like what you're suggesting?

Interesting.
I've had a theory for a while that separating mother and baby after the birth - and all of the interventions like the ones you mentioned that are antithetical to our biological expectation - are probably behind post-partum depression.
After carrying a child for 9 months and giving birth, every cell of your body is craving contact with that baby. Without that - and maybe without the other steps leading to the birth, all of which release oxytocin - I wonder if something in the woman's brain concludes that something must have gone terribly wrong.

- if not captured now, could be/likely will be in the future;
- in any case, her work can be a very entertaining distraction;
and, regardless of all of that:
- there's an aspect of decentralized investigation behind her work that is very cool;
- it's good to see more collaboration between some segments of the left and right in the US;

Yes! The word "agency" kept coming to mind as I was thinking about the Clancy issue today.
People assume that she had no agency at all, and I don't know how to say that without sounding like I'm not sympathetic. (Because in fact I am sympathetic, and I cannot imagine what hell that woman is in, and I think we should be focused much more on the doctors that treated her and whatever drug cocktail she was on).
But somehow people seem to imply that we are all just at the mercy of doctors who don't listen. Something like - what can you do? No one listened to her and then she killed her kids.
You don't have to entrust your mind and your family's well being to a profession that has shown over and over again to be totally untrustworthy.

I have no trouble understanding why a bf/husband would have an issue with it. I can understand the position of support, but would be concerned about the passion.
In the areas where men are treated poorly - let's say whatever combination of things that makes them far more prone to suicide - when a man lashes out violently as a result, I could be sympathetic to him. However, if my bf were passionately defensive of him and made that defense a major focus of his energy, I would have a serious issue with that.

I've been so frustrated by the reactions to this.
Many people are acting as if the support for this poor woman is support for her actions, which is clearly bullshit.
But the super vocal supporters are choosing to put their energy behind a woman who killed her children. She's temporarily or permanently insane by definition to have killed her children; no sane mother does that. And I think we should all be taking a very close look at her treatment before the murders.

I think this is true. They use different rhetoric to appeal to different ideologies, but otherwise they are very similar and will end in the same horrible place.
Arguments against it?1) it's possible that some countries have found a form of socialism which is relatively stable and might not devolve into authoritarianism; and 2) scale really matters. The smaller and more homogeneous the group (in terms of values and goals), the more sense that collectivism makes.
