⚡🚨 ALERT - Anna’s Archive just lost a $322 million court case to Spotify and the big music labels without even showing up in court.
They scraped millions of songs from Spotify, broke through the protections, grabbed song info for 86 million tracks, and then shared actual music files on BitTorrent.
Spotify sued for 120,000 violations.
The judge gave them everything they asked for: $300M to Spotify + $22M to the labels.
The site is now banned from those domains, but the people behind it are anonymous and overseas, so collecting the money won’t be easy.
This is a big warning for “shadow libraries” that copy everything online.
