Depends on the story, but a lot of times my favorite part seems to be the "it's all coming together" phase of the story.
Take, for example, Cryptonomicron by Neil Stephenson. It starts out as a bunch of different plot lines threaded throughout time. Seems like most of the plot lines are vaguely connected, if at all. And then by the end of the book, everything's fucking related. And it's kind of a cool moment when all of the individual plot lines or parts of the story that you might have thought were irrelevant or not necessarily connected end up getting connected.
