By one measure the UK has among the highest (legal) minimum wage levels in the G7... but this is only if measured by its relation to median workers' wages.
What this really emphasises is that especially in some regional cities where the MW is an even higher proportion of local median wages, is that actually what we are seeing is an effective ceiling on wages in the UK - the spread of a low-wage/medium wage economy with a shrinking elite of the *very* well paid.
