I've been asking myself how these people are so persuaded that he is simply the *peak* filmmaker, but the answer has been staring me in the face: they are in a little networking/media bubble where they repeat to themselves & others that this guy is the fucking greatest.

I've gotten plenty of responses to my recent threads from people who really enjoy Nolan's films, & it's clarified for me that people liking to watch his stuff is definitely NOT what bothers me.
