i remember feeling very afraid of driving for like the first month doing it when i was 16.
this is why you have to start it when you're young - it's like learning to swim.
but right now i can practically sleep in the water laying on my back 100% relaxed without using any muscles. but that's because i had almost died from drowning several times when i was younger and have been swimming for almost 40 years.
with driving i can never fully relax like this but i can relax enough to be able to think whereas this is something i still cannot do while mowing the lawn but i have done two orders of magnitude as much driving as i have mowing. Scoundrel (npub14pa…xw3v)
i can see how if i was 37 with almost zero driving experience it would be a relief for me not having to drive. just like it would be a relief to somebody who has barely ever been in the water to not have to swim.
anyway it's embarrassing that i had missed such an obvious explanation for Aruvin's strange fixation on walkability. i kept calling him a retarded Urbanist when he was just an AZN. i am sorry i wasn't trying to hurt his feelings on purpose - i just hate Urbanists.
